Commercial vehicle purchases in South Africa represent only about 1% of total commercial vehicle world sales, but what we have is one of the widest choices of brands to choose from as the country is virtually a playing field for every manufacturer based in America, Europe, Asia and the Far East. Unlike other transport publications, we incorporate vehicles under 3 500 kg gross vehicle mass (GVM) in our list of commercial vehicle types and prices, including messenger/delivery bikes, pickups, panel vans, as well as forklift trucks and off-road vehicles (yellow metal). Accordingly, we had to divide our list into several categories.
